Focusing on Life - 10 of 52

This week, Sally, in her own words, gave us a prompt "that has many meanings" and challenged us to interpret "all wrapped up."

My first thought was to take a picture of the kiddo, wrapped up and ready to play in the snow.  She wasn't in the mood, though.

I started thinking of the different ways I "wrap" things:  beads in wire, gifts in paper, a scarf around my neck.

Then it hit me:  the handwraps I wear in kickboxing.

Please ignore the awful dry skin on my hands.  I promise, after I saw these photos, I slathered my hands in moisturizer.

Getting back to the wraps .. I don't know why, but I love to put these on.

There is something fun about letting loose and hitting a heavy bag as hard as you can.  I even like that "I can't lift my arms" soreness (most of the time).

Please visit Sally's blog to see how the other participants wrapped up their posts.

  1. You know what I love the most about your wraps? They are pink! It's such a beautiful contrast between a girly feature (pink) and a more boy-sh feature (kickboxing). Go, Tanya, go! :)

  2. I think that the preparation, whether you wrap your hands for boxing, or a skater or a dancer, or other athletes prepare is kind of a meditation.

  5. I also like the pink, but the wrap itself is very beautiful. There is a very organic look to it and the texture of the fabric is really speaking to me. I am intrigued by the delicacy vs. forcefullness here:)

  12. Hi Tanya,
I know just waht you mean about hitting that bag it gets out so much frustration even when you don't even realize you have any. Keep punching away!
