My first thought was to take a picture of the kiddo, wrapped up and ready to play in the snow. She wasn't in the mood, though.
I started thinking of the different ways I "wrap" things: beads in wire, gifts in paper, a scarf around my neck.
Then it hit me: the handwraps I wear in kickboxing.
Please ignore the awful dry skin on my hands. I promise, after I saw these photos, I slathered my hands in moisturizer.
Getting back to the wraps .. I don't know why, but I love to put these on.

You know what I love the most about your wraps? They are pink! It's such a beautiful contrast between a girly feature (pink) and a more boy-sh feature (kickboxing). Go, Tanya, go! :)
ReplyDeleteI think that the preparation, whether you wrap your hands for boxing, or a skater or a dancer, or other athletes prepare is kind of a meditation.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure they make you feel strong and confident
ReplyDeleteI agree the pink makes these even more kick-ass! Feeling very womens day appropiate too
ReplyDeleteI also like the pink, but the wrap itself is very beautiful. There is a very organic look to it and the texture of the fabric is really speaking to me. I am intrigued by the delicacy vs. forcefullness here:)
ReplyDeleteThis is so cool! Not just how it looks but also what it's for.
ReplyDeleteI think you like them coz they give you support and comfort and all good things like that :) And I love that "sore" feeling too...although I don't get that too often
ReplyDeleteAnd I love that this is what you picked to photograph :)
ReplyDeleteNice interpitaton of wrapped it really tells a story in itself.
ReplyDeleteYes, there were so many ways to interpret this prompt and I loved that. It's wonderful that you chose yourself and something that brings you happiness.
ReplyDeleteHere I was getting ready to give you sympathy for your injured hand, only to read the wrap is for kick boxing (which by now you can tell is something I've never done). I learned something new today.
ReplyDeleteHi Tanya,
ReplyDeleteI know just waht you mean about hitting that bag it gets out so much frustration even when you don't even realize you have any. Keep punching away!
Therese
I used to do kickboxing when I was much younger and being able to take out frustrations on a poor bag was great! Love the wraps..so girly!
ReplyDeletebrilliant! i wouldn't have thought of these, but they are perfect for this week's prompt :)
ReplyDeleteoh man - you go girl! that is awesome that you do kick boxing wearing pink wraps!! great interpretation of the prompt this week
ReplyDeleteYes - the softness of cloth and pink... contrasting with their use is amazing. Love your take
ReplyDeleteNice interpretation! I've been wanting a punching bag here lately to get my stress released on!
ReplyDeleteTanya, When I saw the thumbnail of your pic I thought you had hurt your hand, which is serious for a beader. I'm glad you are well and enjoying a sport.
ReplyDeleteLove the pink wraps!! Great way to be 'all wrapped up', especially since you love it! Awesome photo too - just perfect!
